Alexander had his first – and immediately successful – title fight in his career
Ukrainian featherweight boxer Alexander Solomennikov (16-0, 8 KOs) won a convincing victory on points over the Venezuelan Mykol Beamont (19-7-1, 9 KOs) in the title fight IBA International.
The fight took place in Estoril, Portugal. The fighters spent all ten scheduled rounds in the ring. The Ukrainian dominated throughout the fight, which was reflected in the judges’ verdicts: 100-90, 100-90 and 99-91 in favor of Alexander.
For 26-year-old Solomennikov, this was the first title fight in his career – accordingly, our compatriot won his first championship belt.
Alexander’s career also includes a fight on the undercard of the fight between Alexander Usik and Daniel Dubois on August 26, 2023 in Wroclaw at the Tarczynski Arena. That evening, Solomennikov defeated Piotr Gudel from Poland by technical knockout.
