Russian boxer Shamil Khataev has retired due to health problems, the press service of the Russian Boxing Federation reported.
Khataev is 28 years old; in 2017 he became champion of Russia. Khataev’s brother, Imam, also participates in professional boxing.
“I had the passion, the strength and the will to become a great champion, but the doctor told me that I risked losing my eyesight if I continued.” I have to give up my dream.
