James Toney criticized the Ukrainian.
Former world champion in three weight categories, member of the International Boxing Hall of Fame, James Toney spoke about the holder of the WBO, WBC, WBA and IBO titles, Alexander Usik.
The American believed that a Ukrainian could not achieve success in his time.
“Usyk? He’s a cool amateur boxer. He’s a heavyweight champion, that’s cool, but you know what, in the cruiserweight division, in my time, he’d be a bum,” Tony is quoted as saying by MillCity Boxing.
The rematch between Usik and Fury will take place on December 21 in the capital of Saudi Arabia, Riyadh. In May of this year, in the fight for the title of absolute champion, the Ukrainian defeated the Briton by split decision.
Earlier, the coach spoke about Fury’s weight in the rematch with Usik.
