Former interim WBC super middleweight world champion, Ukrainian Sergei Bogachuk (24-2, 23 KOs) spoke about his preparation for the fight with the former world junior middleweight champion from Uzbekistan Israil Madrimov (10-0-2, 7 KOs).
“On Sunday, December 8, we are flying to Saudi Arabia. At the gathering [в Мексике] We worked on physical training and sparred. We brought our sparring partners here with us. These are powerful, good guys, and sparring with them is very high quality.”
“It’s a very sporty atmosphere here. We ran in the park every morning, and I was surprised how many people were already doing something in the morning: they also ran, did yoga, and other sports. Also, when we did physical training in the gym, the hall was packed, everyone was training.”
“In general, my camp is going great, I am provided with everything. I think in the fight with Madrimov I will be in the best shape of my life. I prepare very well and am very serious.”
Bogachuk will fight with Madrimov on the undercard of the show between Alexander Usik and Tyson Fury. Let us remind you that the second fight between Usik and Fury will take place on December 21 in the capital of Saudi Arabia, Riyadh.
Bogachuk lost to Virgil Ortiz by split decision in his last fight. In the first and eighth rounds, Bogachuk knocked down his opponent. However, after 12 rounds, one judge recorded a draw, the other two gave preference to Ortiz.
