RCC Boxing Promotions CEO German Titov told that the Russian Dmitri Bivol in the first fight he defeated his compatriot Artur Beterbiev so the boxers must have a rematch.
Earlier, journalist Dan Rafael reported on the Fight Freaks Unite podcast that the second fight between Bivol and Beterbiev could take place in Riyadh on February 22. Bivol’s team later confirmed to that they were negotiating a rematch, but without any details. The first fight between two Russian boxers took place on October 12, 2024, also in Riyadh, and ended with Beterbiev’s victory by split decision. As a result of this fight, Beterbiev became the absolute light heavyweight world champion. Previously, Titov was a co-promoter of Bivol.
– I think everyone needs a rematch between Bivol and Beterbiev. Bivolu – to rehabilitate. Although I think he won the first fight. I am sure that Dmitry should win in the second fight and become the absolute world champion, which is what he was looking for.
For Beterbiev, that’s a lot of money; he won’t win as much in another fight. And Turki Al-ash Sheikh needs a second fight, because he saw Dmitry Bivol’s victory in the first and wants there to be a judge’s decision in the second fight, reflecting who is really stronger.
The first fight was great, the second fight won’t be any worse. This fight has not yet been officially announced, but I think it will be in the near future,” Titov told .
