The Ukrainian confirmed that his weight this time will be more than in the first fight
WBA, WBO and IBF heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk (19-0, 13 KOs) said that the upcoming rematch with Anthony Joshua (24-2, 22 KOs) will not be an easy task for him.
“The difference is that I will have belts with me. I will go out second, people will be waiting for me. I understand that I enter the ring as a champion, but I do not feel that it will be easier for me. I understand that I have to do my job properly, and this will not be an easy task for me.
“I won’t talk much about my strategy. I’m a little heavier than I was last time. Now I’m not sure what my weight will be in the ring, we will see this on Friday at the weigh-in. I am not a forecaster. You’ll see on Saturday night, I’ll just do my job.”
The second fight between Usyk and Joshua will take place on August 20 in Saudi Arabia.
In Ukraine, the rematch between Usyk and Joshua will be broadcast by the MEGOGO media service and the 2+2 TV channel. Oleksandr personally purchased the rights to broadcast his fight with AJ in order to transfer them to Ukrainian broadcasters for free.
Last fall, Usyk defeated Joshua by unanimous decision to become world heavyweight champion for the first time.
