The Ukrainian must first defeat Jemaine Ortiz
Promoter Bob Arum intends to organize a fight for the title of absolute world champion in lightweight between the Ukrainian Vasily Lomachenko and holder of WBC, WBO, IBF, WBA (Super) titles Devin Haney.
To do this, both boxers must first defeat their closest rivals. Vassily will face Jemaine Ortiz and Haney will rematch George Kambosos on October 15th.
Earlier, the Ukrainian went to the US to start a training camp. It is expected that the fight with Ortiz will take place on October 22 or 29.
Lomachenko fought his last fight in December last year, defeating Richard Commey by unanimous decision. Subsequently, Lomachenko could fight George Kambosos, but pulled out against the backdrop of a full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine.
