The Briton is having a hard time with his second defeat from Usyk
Former World Champion Anthony Joshua (24-3, 22 KOs) explained his emotional speech after losing to WBA/WBO/IBF/IBO heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk (20-0, 13 KOs) and apologized for throwing the belts out of the ring.
“I was angry with myself. To no one, only to yourself. When you’re angry, you do stupid things. But now I realize how shitty this idea is. It was very difficult to gather thoughts together. I tried to do it. Then I just spoke from the bottom of my heart.”
“My armor broke a little today because I lost. I was upset. I said where it came from. I changed thanks to boxing, and it was able to turn my life around. I am a fighter, I am not an ordinary person, although I try to control myself. I was just in war mode.”
Immediately after the victory over Joshua Usyk, he challenged WBC champion Tyson Fury to a fight. And Anthony called the Ukrainian “phenomenal talent” and admitted his defeat.
Following the results of all twelve rounds, Usyk defeated Joshua by a split decision: 115-113, 116-112 and 113-115.
Recall that the first fight between Usyk and Joshua took place in the fall of 2021. Then the Ukrainian defeated the Briton by unanimous decision and became the WBA/WBO/IBF/IBO heavyweight champion for the first time.
