Fight between British Tyson’s Fury and Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk could take place in mid-December in Saudi Arabia, according to the Daily Mail.
On August 20, Usyk defeated Britain’s Anthony Joshua in a split decision rematch and retained three heavyweight championship belts: WBO, WBA and IBF. Immediately after the fight ended, he challenged Fury, who holds the WBC title. Later, Fury accepted the Ukrainian’s challenge.
According to the publication, the fight is set to take place on December 17, the day before the World Cup final in neighboring Qatar.
– We are very interested in the fight for the title of absolute world heavyweight champion. We will do it in the city of Riyadh,” said Saudi Sports Minister Abdulaziz bin Turki Al Faisal.
At the same time, Fury expects a fee of £420m for resuming his career and agreeing to fight.
Fury has announced his retirement several times. The Brit won 32 out of 33 fights in the professional ring, one more fight ended in a draw. Usyk, undefeated, has 20 wins.
