Our President congratulated Usyk on his victory
President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky commented on the victory of the WBA/WBO/IBF/IBO heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk (20-0, 13 KOs) over ex-world champion Anthony Joshua (24-3, 22 KOs).
“A difficult, but such an important and necessary victory. The defense of the world title is a symbol of the fact that everyone who is of the Cossack family will not give up theirs, will fight for it and will definitely win.”
Immediately after the victory over Joshua Usyk, he challenged WBC champion Tyson Fury to a fight.
Following the results of all twelve rounds, Usyk defeated Joshua by a split decision: 115-113, 116-112 and 113-115.
The Ukrainian won the twentieth victory in the professional ring. For Joshua, the second loss to Usyk was the third in his career.
Recall that the first fight between Usyk and Joshua took place in the fall of 2021. Then the Ukrainian defeated the Briton by unanimous decision and became the WBA/WBO/IBF/IBO heavyweight champion for the first time.
