Ukrainian wants a unification fight
WBA/WBO/IBF/IBO Heavyweight Champion Oleksandr Usyk (20-0, 13 KOs) commented on the victory over the ex-world champion Anthony Joshua (24-3, 22 KOs) and challenged the WBC champion Tyson Fury (32-0-1, 23 KOs).
“I want to thank all those who prayed for me. I want to thank God for the help he gave me today. He gave me a lot of it today. Thank you Saudi Arabia.”
“I dedicate this fight to my state Ukraine, the Armed Forces of Ukraine, to everyone who defends my country, to all of Ukraine.”
“This is already history. It will be watched by many generations, especially the round where they tried to beat me hard. But I persevered and turned the fight in my favor.”
“I’m sure Tyson Fury hasn’t retired. I am convinced that he wants to box with me, I want to box with him. If I don’t box Fury, I won’t box at all.”
In the fight for the WBA/WBO/IBF/IBO heavyweight title, Oleksandr Usyk defeated Anthony Joshua.
Following the results of all twelve rounds, Usyk defeated Joshua by a split decision: 115-113, 116-112 and 113-115.
The Ukrainian won the twentieth victory in the professional ring. For Joshua, the second loss to Usyk was the third in his career.
Recall that the first fight between Usyk and Joshua took place in the fall of 2021. Then the Ukrainian defeated the Briton by unanimous decision and became the WBA/WBO/IBF/IBO heavyweight champion for the first time.
