Jon Jones doesn’t hide his desire to return to the UFC and wants Miocic

Former UFC champion Jon Jones wants to return to the Octagons as soon as possible, but the fight against Stipe Miocic will still take time

Jon Jones is one of the greats of the UFC and can’t wait to face Miocic in the octagons. The former UFC light heavyweight champion will venture into the heavyweight division, but his return still doesn’t have a set date. This Wednesday, 27, through his social networks, the American announced that he will return to fighting, but only against Stipe.

However, the news was not the best for his fans. That’s because, he made it clear that he will only return to UFC activities in a direct confrontation with Miocic. Predicting that he wants to be the best among the heavyweights, Jon Jones assured that he will wait until September to get the best possible start in the new division.

CHANNEL – ATHLETISTIC:

Stipe is saying he will be at his absolute peak in September. I’m disappointed but patient. I want the GOAT heavyweight at his absolute peak. I’ll wait until September. No excuses“, he highlighted.

It is worth mentioning that Miocic and Jon Jones had the expectation that the confrontation would take place in July, at UFC 276. Dana White had even agreed with this clash of giants. However, Stipe asked for a little more time for his return. He hasn’t been in the Octagons since the 2021 season, while Bones hasn’t fought since 2020.

Preparation with Jon Jones feels like I’m struggling every day. He’s intense. Want to train all day. 24 hours straight. We are six heavyweights with a gym in the morning, swimming in the afternoon and drill in the evening. He is around 112 kg. Strong for ca*****. Good cardio and you have to have the same speed as him. He coming back will beat champion. It’s hard to keep up and he’s very observant and studious.“, he stated.
