Russian Vladimir Nikitin defeated Ellie Mwerangi of Tanzania in a featherweight bout at a boxing night in Syktyvkar.
The ten-round fight ended with Nikitin’s victory by judges’ decision. At stake was the vacant championship belt according to the Eurasian Professional Boxing Federation.
The 32-year-old Nikitin has won seven bouts in the professional ring, suffered one loss and finished one bout in a draw. Mweranga, 29, has 12 wins and four losses.
In another fight of the evening, Russian heavyweight boxer Evgeny Romanov defeated Namibian Vikapita Meroro by technical knockout.
For the Russian, this is the 17th consecutive victory in professional boxing.
