Spartakiad judo champion Misirov explained why he considers himself number one in the country in terms of weight

Judoka Ismail Misirov, 23, told that he won Spartakiad in the weight category up to 66 kg due to catching, for which he prepared several effective techniques.

Tough day, tough finish. All the strongest in our weight class came to Kazan, so every fight was decisive.

– Is the level of the Spartakiad similar to the Russian championship?

– I think it’s a little cooler, in Russia the first numbers usually don’t work, but here everyone fought.

– Can you now say to yourself: “I am the number one in the country”?

– In the category up to 66 kg it is. As for the international scene, I don’t know, I only went to the world championships when I was under 23. But a decent weight fell off my shoulders when I won the final.

“It looked like they did it without a hitch.

It seemed like the right word. A lot has been invested emotionally and physically in this victory. Planned from the catch, which led to the winning throw, a few turns. One succeeded. I saw a small corridor, I decided to seize the moment. Everything worked.

– Silver medalist Abrek Naguchev is not a boy. Why wasn’t he ready?

– In lightweights it is usually not easy, because each wrestler has a rich arsenal of techniques. He and I could expect any action.

– Do you serve in the National Guard?

No, but he spoke for her.

Have you ever worn a uniform?

– I didn’t have to.

The Spartakiad judo competitions will end on August 24.
