World Cup medalist and participant in the Tokyo Olympics Alexandra Babintseva shared his emotions after winning the judo competition in the category up to 78 kg as part of the All-Russian Spartakiad in summer sports among the strongest athletes.
– You played in Kazan at the 2013 Universiade, you won bronze. Now gold. Are you growing?
“Actually, I haven’t competed for a long time because of an injury,” Babintseva told reporters. “I’m happy to be back on the tatami, fighting, feeling the adrenaline. Satisfied with first place.
How long was the break?
– The last start dates back to November. Consider 10 months.
– How can you live so long without judo, and then win?
– Hard. Operated, was engaged in OFP. But I never allowed myself to think that I would not return to the previous level. The other day my sister also made me an aunt, gave me a nephew Yegor. Double joy, and I will devote gold to it.
– Have you ever used judo techniques outside the tatami?
– Never.
– Is Spartakiad gold better than World Championship bronze, which you already have?
Any medal is priceless. Another thing is that it is today – after the return.
– When were you better prepared, now or in Tokyo, where you found yourself priceless?
“Both then and now. The eyeliner was very good, the state of health is excellent. Why I won here and lost there, I cannot answer.
“Are you from Kirov or Muscovite?”
– A Kirov woman who came to Moscow at the age of 16 and stayed there. How long do you have to live in the capital to consider yourself a Muscovite? I don’t know, I just live and train.
Judo competitions will end in Kazan on August 24.
