Anthony lost to the Ukrainian in a rematch
Former World Heavyweight Champion Deontay Wilder said that the British Anthony Joshua in the second fight against the holder of the WBA / WBO / IBF / IBO heavyweight titles Oleksandr Usyk was constrained in his movements, which is why he did not show his best boxing.
“It was obvious that Joshua was out of his mind. He didn’t look like himself,” Wilder said.
“He was motivated or felt completely secure within himself. It all comes down to this. We all know Joshua has stamina issues. We always feel like he’s too big for certain things he does in the ring.”
On August 20, Joshua lost a split decision to Ukrainian boxer, WBA/WBO/IBF/IBO heavyweight champion Alexander Usik in a rematch.
The first fight between Usyk and Joshua took place in the fall of 2021. Then the Ukrainian defeated the Briton by unanimous decision and became the WBA/WBO/IBF/IBO heavyweight champion for the first time.
Joshua is ready to return to the ring this year with any opponent. Briton promoter Eddie Hearn announced his readiness to arrange a fight for Anthony in November-December, and also expressed confidence in Joshua’s three or four fights in 2023.
