Russian Mixed Martial Artist (MMA) Yevgeny Goncharov August 27 in Krasnodar was supposed to fight with an American Tony Johnson but the latter did not have time to obtain a visa due to the increase in the registration deadline, the match will be postponed, said ASA League President Alexei Yatsenko.
Goncharov and Johnson have met twice, the first fight in June 2019 was declared invalid. But at the second meeting in August 2019, Goncharov took the league title, winning by court order. Goncharov, 36, has 17 wins and three losses, while Johnson, 36, has 16 wins, six losses and a draw.
– We will do everything possible to have a rematch between Johnson and Goncharov. As soon as Tony receives a visa, the date of one of the next tournaments will be announced immediately,” Yatsenko told reporters.
