Matchroom promoter: In my opinion, Wilder vs. Joshua fight is bigger than Usyk vs. Fury

Frank Smith is confident that Joshua will still have victories ahead

Matchroom Boxing Promoter Frank Smith sure that the ex-world champion Anthony Joshua will return to the top heavyweight division.

“I have said it before and I will say it again. In my opinion, Deontay Wilder vs. Anthony Joshua, with or without belts, is bigger than Oleksandr Usyk vs. Tyson Fury.”

“Joshua has done everything he has to do and is proud of his career. Fans can always have their say, but there can never be any doubt about AJ’s accomplishments in the sport and what he has done to date. He can still succeed and he has never shied away from a challenge.”

“He came back immediately after the loss to Andy Ruiz and immediately came back after the loss to Usyk. As I said, in the second fight with Usyk, he looked much, much better. He still has a lot left to give to the sport. He is 32 years old and still in excellent physical condition,” Smith said.

Promoter Andy Hearn said that he intends to organize the next fight for Joshua before the end of the year.

Joshua previously said he was ready to fight anyone in his next fight. Anthony does not mind entering the ring in November, while the promoter recommends December.

On August 20, Joshua lost a split decision to Ukrainian boxer, WBA/WBO/IBF/IBO heavyweight champion Alexander Usik in a rematch.
