The American fought both champions
American heavyweight Michael Hunter (20-1-2, 14 KOs) believes WBA/WBO/IBF/IBO world champion Oleksandr Usyk will be able to use the difference in weight with the WBC world champion Tyson Fury in your favor. The American has fought both fighters and knows the style of each personally.
“Usyk has a few adjustments to make, but I don’t think weight will make as much of a difference as it’s been made out to.”
“Against such big boxers, you can use their weight. You can adapt. I’ve fought the big guys my whole career.”
“Usyk is hardy, he will move a lot. There will be a slightly different tactic than in the duel with Joshua. But I think Usyk will do well.”
Michael Hunter lost to Oleksandr Usyk in 2017 for the WBO cruiserweight belt. He also fought Tyson Fury at an amateur level.
Hunter will face Tyson’s cousin Hughie Fury on October 29 in Birmingham. Subsequently, the American plans to have a rematch with Usyk.
Immediately after the rematch victory over Joshua Usyk called out WBC champion Tyson Fury to fight. Following the results of all twelve rounds, Usyk defeated Joshua by a split decision of the judges.
