Secretary General of the Russian Boxing Federation Tatyana Kiriyenko said that the Spartakiad is very important and the future lies in such competitions.
The boxing tournament as part of the All-Russian Spartakiad in summer sports among the strongest athletes in 2022 will end on August 27. Competitions are held in Olympic weight classes, eight boxers compete in each division.
– The Spartakiad is our home for us. It is an event to which we all unite. We understand the importance of this tournament. Here are the strongest boxers. We give ourselves an idea of the importance and, I underline it, of the state dimension of this event. I am constantly in contact with the guys and ask them what the Spartakiad means to them. And I’m amazed – almost all the participants have rich experience and have participated in the biggest tournaments, but they understand the full responsibility of performing in Spartakiad.
There is a targeted preparation for the Russian championship, and now the guys were preparing separately for this tournament. We understand that the future belongs to such a Spartakiad,” Kirienko told reporters.
