Usyk’s cutman on round 9: Ukrainian weathered the storm. Good thing he’s back in the corner

Ukrainian boxer managed to turn the tide of the fight

Cutman Oleksandr Usyk – Russ Amber told how the Ukrainian behaved after a difficult 9th round in a rematch with Anthony Joshua.

“It was a great round for Joshua. Even though Usyk doesn’t have much professional experience, all he did was weather the storm. So it looked like AJ jumped on him, hurt him.”

“But instead of panicking, he just weathered the storm. He foresaw that this guy would explode. “Okay, I lost this round, it doesn’t matter, it won’t be worse than this,” Usyk thought. So he went back to the corner. We doused him with ice water. He was fine. The proof of that was what happened in the next round.”

Recall that Usyk defeated Anthony Joshua in a rematch by a split decision. Immediately after the victory, Usyk challenged WBC champion Tyson Fury to a fight.

The head of Top Rank, Bob Arum, said that the fight between Fury and Usyk could take place on February 11 or 18 in the Middle East.
