The Ukrainian boxer told how support from the front helped him defeat the British.

WBA, WBO and IBF heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk held a press conference on his rematch victory against Anthony Joshua.

The Ukrainian boxer said he had great support from the military, with whom he spoke before and after the fight.

“I know that the guys on the front line watched the fight. They sent me videos, and I sent them. I know that a lot of guys supported. It was our usual victory, so I think I made everyone happy person.

I don’t think any of the boxers miss punches to wear down the opponent. It’s boxing, so sometimes you swim. In the ninth round, I felt a lot of pressure from Joshua, and in his eyes I saw: “Well, I’m going to eat this snowball.”

There is something in my head, inside, in my heart, in my legs, that you cannot give up and stop. It was not as difficult for me as it was for some of the men on the front lines. So it let me inside. When the ninth round was over, I prayed and entered the tenth round.

I also asked the team what round. Sometimes you see when girls wear signs, but then nothing. I didn’t count the rounds, I wasn’t too interested, because you just have to work. Then I received the command to start and we started. I think Joshua saw that I didn’t break down and didn’t know how to win. Thank God that everything like this happened,” Usyk said in a press conference.

Let us remind you, it was previously known that Joshua’s team is considering organizing a new fight for him.
