The Brit wants a new fight later this year
Trainer Anthony Joshua (24-3, 22 KOs) – Robert Garcia talked about how the Briton should prepare for the next fight.
“I told Anthony and his team that the best way to continue working together is to come to my practice room in California eight weeks before the fight.”
“I need Anthony to be around more fighters to compete. Competition in the gym will work for everyone.”
Recall that on August 20, Joshua lost a split decision to the WBA/WBO/IBF/IBO world heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk.
The first duel between Usyk and Joshua took place in the fall of 2021. Then the Ukrainian defeated the Briton by unanimous decision.
Joshua is ready to return to the ring this year with any opponent. Briton promoter Eddie Hearn announced his readiness to arrange a fight for Anthony in November-December, and also expressed confidence in Joshua’s three or four fights in 2023.
