Promoter picks future opponents for Joshua
Promoter Eddie Hearn said that he had previously contacted the manager Deontay Wilder (42-1-1, 41 KOs) Shelley Finkel with an offer to organize a fight against Anthony Joshua (24-3, 22 KOs).
“I contacted Finkel. Told him I had a huge offer for Deontay. But no one answered me.”
“I just do not understand. Maybe Wilder just doesn’t like me, so he says, “I don’t care how much money this guy can offer me, I’m not interested.”
Earlier, Matchroom Boxing promoter Frank Smith stated that “Wilder vs. Joshua, with or without belts, is bigger than Oleksandr Usyk vs. Tyson Fury.”
Prior to this, Hearn said that he intends to organize the next fight for Joshua before the end of the year. And Anthony himself said he was ready to fight anyone in his next fight.
On August 20, Joshua lost a split decision to Ukrainian boxer, WBA/WBO/IBF/IBO heavyweight champion Alexander Usik in a rematch.
Former world heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder plans to return to the ring on October 15th. The American will hold against the Finnish boxer Robert Helenius (34-3, 20 KOs).
