The fight will take place on the night of September 5
Former World Heavyweight Champion Andy Ruiz (34-2, 22 KOs) turned out to be harder Luis Ortiz (33-2, 28 KOs) by more than 10 kilograms.
The boxers have been weighed in. Ruiz showed 121.9 kg (268 3/4 lbs). Under the 43-year-old Cuban, the scales indicated 111.2 kg (245 1/4 pounds).
Previously, Ruiz said that the fight with Ortiz is necessary in order to prepare a summary for fights at the highest level. The Cuban is in the top ten, and thus the American hopes to achieve top-level fights, including the holder of the WBA, WBO, IBF and IBO titles Oleksandr Usyk.
The Ortiz fight will be Ruiz’s first in 15 months. Last May, Andy defeated Chris Arreola via unanimous decision.
Ortiz last fought in January 2022, defeating Charles Martin by TKO in the sixth round. Louis is a former WBC heavyweight title challenger. In the championship fights, the Cuban lost twice to Deontay Wilder.
The fight will take place in Los Angeles on the night of September 5.
