Usyk: A lot of guys on the front line watched the fight with Joshua, this is our common victory

The champion said that many athletes offered help to him or Ukraine

WBA/WBO/IBF/IBO heavyweight title holder Oleksandr Usyk (20-0, 13 KOs) said that he felt support from the defenders of Ukraine before the rematch with the British Anthony Joshua.

“I know that a lot of guys on the front line watched the fight. They sent me a video of them watching the fight. This is our common victory,” said the world champion.

“Almost all the guys I talk to are interested in things in Ukraine. Wrote Tony Bellew, Derek Chisora, many athletes, they even worried.

They asked how things were, how the family was. Most supported me and said if they could help me or the country in any way.”

Last month, the Ukrainian beat Britain’s Anthony Joshua in twelve rounds by split decision: 115-113, 116-112 and 113-115.

Immediately after the victory in a rematch over Joshua Usyk called out WBC champion Tyson Fury to fight. In turn, the Gypsy King demands $500 million for a unification fight with Usyk.

Usyk’s promoter, Alexander Krasyuk, denied that the fight with Fury would be held on December 17 in Saudi Arabia. According to him, negotiations are ongoing.
