Gloves of former American boxer Evander Holyfield auctioned.
In these gloves, Holyfield had an infamous fight against a countryman mike tyson who bit off a piece of his ear during the fight.
This rematch between Holyfield and Tyson for the WBA heavyweight title took place on June 28, 1997 – seven months after Holyfield won the first fight by technical knockout. Tyson bit off a piece of Holyfield’s ear in the third round of that fight.
After the incident, the Nevada State Athletic Commission revoked Tyson’s boxing license, which was reinstated 15 months later, and fined him $3 million.
Since the lot opened, five bids have been submitted, starting at $10,000 and reaching $12,155.
