Ferguson called himself the only fighter capable of forcing Khabib back into his career

American mixed martial artist Tony Ferguson believes he is the only one who can force the former UFC lightweight champion Khabiba Nurmagomedova resume his career.

“I’m the one who can bring him out of retirement. This guy has not retired. Basically, when you lose someone, you have to rest a little, you have to think and do whatever it takes. But his father said there should be a fight between me and Khabib. Before he died he said this, and Khabib agrees, Ferguson is quoted by MMA Fighting.

Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov, Khabib’s father, died aged 57 in July 2020 due to complications from coronavirus. In October of the same year, Khabib defeated Justin Gaethje and announced his retirement.

Khabib, 33, has 29 wins in 29 MMA fights, including 13 wins in 13 UFC fights.

Because of the 38-year-old American Ferguson 25 victories in mixed martial arts and 7 defeats. On May 7, he lost to fellow countryman Michael Chandler by knockout in the second round at UFC 274.
