Wilder manager: If Joshua feels he can find redemption in Deontay fight, we’re open to it

Wilder will return to the ring on October 15

Shelley Finkelmanager of former world heavyweight champion Deontay Wildershared his opinion about a possible duel of his ward with Anthony Joshua.

“If Joshua needs to take a break and find a fight to come back, or if he feels like he will find redemption in a fight with Deontay, then we are open to that… I would never turn down that option,” Finkel said.

“Joshua was brave enough to immediately go for revenge [с Усиком]when he clearly lost the first fight. But the Wilder fight really depends on Joshua’s desire.”

“Now Wilder’s thoughts are only about the fight against Helenius. If he can’t handle Helenius, then the rest won’t matter.”

Earlier, Eddie Hearn, Joshua’s promoter, said that he approached Finkel with an offer to arrange a fight between the two ex-world champions, but never received a response.

Wilder will fight next on October 15. The American will return to the ring against Finnish boxer Robert Helenius.

In August, Joshua lost a split decision to Ukrainian boxer, WBA/WBO/IBF/IBO heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk in a rematch. Anthony plans to return to the ring in December. His next opponent could be WBC title holder Tyson Fury.
