Coach of mixed martial arts club “Akhmat” Murad Bichuev said he was surprised by the tactics of the Chechen-Swedish fighter Khamzat Chimaev in a duel with the American Kevin Holland.
The Las Vegas tournament fight ended with Chimaev’s victory in the first round. Chimaev was originally scheduled to face fellow U.S. Representative Nate Diaz, but was pulled from the bout after failing to cut weight.
‘Of course, Holland couldn’t be written off. He is a very good fighter. When Chimaev went on the attack without recognition, he was very surprised, knowing his opponent’s level in shock technique. But Khamzat is so confident in himself that he can afford it, Bichuev told RT.
Chimaev has 12 wins in 12 mixed martial arts fights. Holland suffered the eighth loss of his career with 23 wins.
