Athletistic/ MMA. Former mixed martial arts fighter Josh Thomson, who competed in the UFC from 2003 to 2004, as well as from 2013 to 2015, commented on Swedish Khamzat Chimaev’s failed weigh-in before the fight with Nate Diaz.
“He realized he couldn’t gain weight and gave up. It’s very unprofessional. I lost all respect for him. I was impressed with the start of his career at the UFC. But now he pisses me off. People said to me, ‘Khabib didn’t make weight either’ Guys, Khabib always got in on the limit. And he didn’t show the major, standing on the scale. He never had a 3 kg advantage,” Thomson said on his podcast.
On the eve of the fight with American Nate Diaz, Khamzat Chimaev failed the weigh-in, reaching 80.74 kg, which does not correspond to the welterweight limit, according to which fighters must weigh up to 77 kg.
As a result, Chimaev fought at catchweight with American Kevin Holland, whom he defeated by choke in the first round.
