Athletistic / Boxing / MMA American UFC fighter Tony Ferguson has opened up about Chechen-born Swedish fighter Khamzat Chimaev failing the pre-fight weigh-in with Nate Diaz at UFC 279.

Recall that following the results of a failed weight race, Chimaev lost his fight with Diaz. As a result, Khamzat fought Kevin Holland, defeating him in the first round with a choke, and Diaz fought Tony Ferguson, whom he defeated by guillotine in the fourth round.

“When it all happened at the weigh-in, I was immediately reminded of the pandemic period, you know what I mean? As Nate said, we have two Russians. One of them, Khabib , ran away from me at UFC 209, and the other , Chimaev, from Nate at UFC 279.

There, at the weigh-in, it was unclear what, then Khamzat failed the procedure. I don’t want to think it, but something tells me that this whole situation was a front for Chimaev,” Ferguson said as quoted by MMA News.
