Fury holds the championship belt of the organization, and the first two lines of the rating are occupied by Wilder and Ruiz
Ahead of a potential fight for the WBC heavyweight title with Tyson Fury ex-world champion Anthony Joshua was in 6th place in the updated WBC rankings.
The first two lines of the rating are occupied by Deontay Wilder and Andy Ruiz.
Earlier, WBC President Mauricio Suleiman said that the organization could not schedule a fight between champion Fury and Joshua. Fury made his mandatory title defense in April. The organization will be able to appoint a new contender for the WBC title no earlier than November.
The WBC is proposing an option in which the fight between Fury and Joshua will take place, but will have the status of Tyson’s voluntary title defense.
Recently, Fury reached out to Joshua twice via social media and offered him a fight. Anthony accepted Fury’s offer.
Joshua also agrees to a 60/40 distribution of the fee to the reigning world champion. Boxers are considering three dates for the fight – November 26, December 3 and December 17.
At the same time, the head of Top Rank, Bob Arum, said that the fight between Fury and Joshua is unlikely to take place in 2022.
It also became known that negotiations on a possible fight between Fury and Joshua have been suspended due to the death of Queen Elizabeth II of Great Britain.
