The Ukrainian world champion is preparing a fallback if the British heavyweight pulls out of the fight again.
Oleksandr Usyk has begun looking for a fallback should Tyson Fury refuse to re-enter the ring against him. According to the manager of the WBA, WBO, IBO and IBF heavyweight champion Egis Klimas, the Ukrainian has found a worthy candidate to enter the ring.
According to the functionary, Usyk will fight in early 2023 against the winner of the fight between Deontay Wilder and Robert Helenius.
“Usyk wants to fight Wilder, but he will fight whoever wins this confrontation. Usyk is not like Fury. He won, not lost,” Klimas quotes The Ring.
Note that the fight between Wilder and Helenius will take place on October 15 this year.
Remember, earlier it was known that Tyson Fury wants to fight Oleksandr Usyk in February or March.
