According to , the International Judo Federation (IJF) is considering the possibility of not admitting Russian and Belarusian athletes to the World Championships, which will be held in Tashkent from October 6-12.

The Russians participated in the Grand Slam tournament in Ulaanbaatar in June and even won the medal standings of this competition. After the tournament, IJF Director General Vlad Marinescu in an interview with evaded a direct answer to the question about the Russians’ chances of being admitted to the World Championships, saying only that judo is out. politics.
