The Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC) intends to open an investigation into a brawl between a Swedish fighter of Chechen descent Khamzat Chimaev and the Americans Nate Diaz and Kevin Holland . Both incidents happened during a press conference ahead of the UFC 279 tournament.
“If the Nevada Athletic Commission determines that the licensees have acted improperly, we will take appropriate disciplinary action against everyone involved,” NSAC Chairman Steven Klubek said.
Prior to the tournament, Chimaev first argued with Holland, then his team nearly got into a mass brawl with Diaz’s entourage.
Chimaev himself was pulled from the fight with Diaz due to not gaining weight. At the tournament, he fought with Holland, whom he defeated earlier than expected.
