Brazilian mixed martial artist Charles Oliveira won’t come to Abu Dhabi to fight the Russians Islam Makhachev which should take place during the UFC 280 tournament, says the promotion’s former lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov .
The lightweight title fight between Makhachev and Oliveira will take place on October 22 and will headline the tournament. Earlier, UFC chief Dana White said Australian Alexander Volkanovski could become a reserve fighter for the fight.
– I think Oliveira will not appear in Abu Dhabi, UFC will replace him with Beneil Dariush. No matter who Makhachev’s rival will be, he is on his way to becoming the best in the world, Nurmagomedov wrote on the social network.
Makhachev won 22 in mixed martial arts, suffered one defeat, Oliveira won 33 fights, eight losses, one fight was declared invalid.
