Russian athletes on Saturday won six gold medals at the European Sambo and Combat Sambo Championships, which are being held in the Serbian city of Novi Sad.
Victories in sambo competitions were won by Alexander Fedorov (weight category up to 64 kg), Denis Kalinin (up to 79 kg) and Tamara Lishchenko (up to 72 kg). Vyacheslav Mikhailin (up to 98 kg) and Olga Mitina (up to 59 kg) became silver medalists, Maria Molchanova (up to 50 kg) and Olga Artoshina (over 80 kg) won bronze.
In combat sambo, Russians Valery Yergalov (up to 58 kg), Said Saidov (up to 88 kg) and Soslan Dzhanaev (over 98 kg) won gold. Rashad Muradov became the owner of the bronze medal in the weight category up to 71 kg.
Russian and Belarusian athletes participate in the European Championships under the flag of the International Sambo Federation (FIAS).
