Russian athletes won 10 gold medals on the last day of the European SAMBO and Combat SAMBO Championships. The competitions took place in the Serbian city of Novi Sad.
The Russians, playing in neutral status under the International SAMBO Federation (FIAS) flag, won victories in all the finals.
Vladimir Gladkikh (weight category up to 58 kg), Ramed Gukev (up to 71 kg), Sergey Kiryukhin (up to 88 kg), Alexei Merzlikin (over 98 kg), Elmira Kakhramanova (up to 54 kg ), Valeria Anisimova (up to up to 65 kg), Alena Prokopenko (up to 80 kg). In combat sambo, Fedor Durymanov (up to 64 kg), Zagid Gaidarov (up to 79 kg) and Anton Mamonov (up to 98 kg) won gold medals.
The Russian team won the team classification of the tournament.
Russian and Belarusian athletes were allowed to participate in the tournament without national symbols due to the situation in Ukraine.
