Boxers have existing agreements with different TV companies
Frank Warrenco-promoter of the WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Furysaid that his ward and ex-world champion Anthony Joshua must agree on a contract for a future fight, despite agreements with different broadcasters. Fury has an ongoing deal with BT in the UK and ESPN in the US, Joshua has a contract with DAZN.
“Both fighters have agreements with different TV companies and they need to talk like an adult to make it work.”
“I will not go into the details of the contract. On some points, the parties may or may not agree. But key issues (percentage of profits, revenge, date) are discussed. I’m sure everything else will be decided too, everyone wants this fight.”
Fury twice reached out to Joshua via social media and offered him a fight. Anthony has accepted Fury’s offer for a December 3 fight.
Joshua also agrees to a 60/40 distribution of the fee to the reigning world champion.
Joshua lost in a rematch for the WBA/WBO/IBF/IBO heavyweight title to Oleksandr Usyk. Following the results of all twelve rounds, Alexander defeated Joshua by a split decision: 115-113, 116-112 and 113-115.
