The ex-world champion expects an interesting confrontation in the ring between the Mexican and Ukrainian.

Saul Alvarez said he wanted to meet in the ring with Alexander Usik, which spawned a new wave in world boxing. All the famous current and former sports stars have enthusiastically accepted this news and are waiting for a possible rivalry.

So, ex-world champion Hasim Rahman, in an interview with boxing247, thought about a possible fight between the boxers. Moreover, in his opinion, the Mexican will be the favorite here, even if he has to put on a lot of weight. In fact, according to Rahman, such a fight can only take place with a limit of 201 pounds (up to 91 kg, cruiserweight limit).

“I would like Alvarez to face Usyk at 201lbs. I think he has a chance. Maybe he’s still the favorite. Yes, you could say that Canelo is too small for heavyweight, but mind you, I’m not just said 201 pounds.

If the fight takes place with such a weight limit, then Usyk will have to lose weight, lose muscle mass, while Alvarez will be added to everything. Canelo knows how to box and continues to sparr with heavyweights.

Usyk is not one of the strongest heavyweights. He’s not big even in the heavyweight division. So I think Alvarez has a good chance of becoming the world’s unified heavyweight champion if the fight goes through such restrictions. I give him a chance.

I think Saul can win. All the strength that Usyk has, Canelo has. Moreover, Alvarez has an iron chin. Usyk won’t hurt him so I’m giving him a chance. In fact, I think Canelo is the favorite for this fight, ”Rahman said.

It will be recalled that earlier in the Usyk team they agreed to fight Alvarez. However, they advised the Mexican, for a start, to face Bivol on May 7th.
