President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev had a phone conversation with a boxer Gennady Golovkin after the fight with the mexican Saul Alvarez . This was reported by the press service of the Kazakh leader’s administration.
We note that the Head of State supported the athlete and reminded him that he remains the best boxer in the world.
– For the fans, you were and you will remain the best boxer in the world. You have made a huge contribution to popularizing boxing, we are proud of you,” Tokayev said in a phone conversation with Golovkin.
Alvarez defeated Golovkin by unanimous decision last Sunday in Las Vegas to retain his WBO, IBF, WBA and WBC super middleweight titles.
Golovkin, 40, suffered the second loss of his career. He also has IBF, IBO and WBA middleweight championship belts under his belt.
