Ovince Sy-Preux and Shogun face off at UFC 274 and the Brazilian’s rival wants an even faster victory than the last time they faced each other
Ovince St-Preux and Maurício Shogun will face each other in UFC 274, which takes place in the early hours of Saturday, 7, to Sunday, 8, in Phoenix, USA. But this is not the first time that the two face each other in Ultimate, as they both had a fight in 2014, in Brazil, but the Brazilian’s rival knocked him out in 34 seconds and wants to repeat or even improve the dose.
In an interview for “Combat“, Ovince St-Preux assured that he wants to beat Shogun as soon as possible and show again that the Brazilian is no match for him. According to the fighter, after that quick knockout, his expectation is that he will be able to be more agile and hit quick strikes on Mauritius to end the confrontation as soon as possible.

“It may be different because you have already faced it. There’s a good chance it will be different, but at the end of the day, a fight is a fight. I beat him in 34 seconds, so my goal is to beat him in less than that. If not, it will be three rounds and with my hand up until the end of the night. that’s all that matters“, he stated.
Ovince St-Preux recalled the knockout of Shogun in the fight held in Uberlândia: “It was madness. After the knockout I could hear myself screaming. My ears were hurting and the entire arena was silent. I just listened to my coach, something that almost never happens. I managed to take the guy down in a way he’s never been taken down. It was probably one of the situations that bothered him the most and that he wants to come back to finish what is open. But that’s what happened and no one can erase“.
Even so, St-Preux assured that he has a lot of respect for Shogun: “I tell everyone that when I started watching MMA, Shogun was always one of the best. I tell people that I’m going to face Shogun and everyone is amazed and excited about it. This is the second time we’ve faced each other and he’s still the Shogun, but inside the octagon there won’t be love. At the end of the fight we shake hands and thank him“.
