Lomachenko and Haney will fight again in October
WBO and WBC super featherweight champion Shakur Stevenson (18-0, 9 KOs) commented on a possible fight between the undisputed lightweight champion Devin Haney (28-0, 15 KOs) and ex-champion in three divisions Vasily Lomachenko (16-2, 11 KOs).
“I think Haney will get to the Lomachenko fight first. He is the undisputed lightweight champion, so he will be the first to achieve this. Lomachenko and Haney deserve to fight each other. I think Devin will win this fight.”
Lomachenko will face Jemaine Ortiz on October 29 at Madison Square Garden in New York.
If Lomachenko wins, he is looking forward to a fight with undisputed lightweight champion Devin Haney. It is reported that Haney and his father are interested in fighting Vasily. Before that, the American will have a rematch with ex-champion George Kambosos on the night of October 16 in Melbourne.
Lomachenko had his last fight in December last year, defeating Richard Commey by unanimous decision. Subsequently, Vasily could fight with George Kambosos, but refused it against the backdrop of a full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine.
