Bellator chief confirmed plans to set up fight between Fedor Emelianenko and Anderson Silva

Bellator President Scott Cocker on the Ringer MMA Podcast announced plans to stage a duel between the Russian fighter Fyodor Emelianenko and Brazilian Anderson Silva .

– We offered Silva a fight in MMA against Fedor. We haven’t had any serious conversations about numbers or anything yet, but there’s definitely been some contact on our end to see if there’s any interest. At the time, he really wanted to focus on boxing and see how far he could go. And you know what? I would say we can do it in Japan or New York at Madison Square Garden.

Let’s do it big. This is a fight that everyone would love to see. The greatest number one against the greatest number two.

To be honest, negotiating a weight class can be a bit tricky. But I thought, “Hey, let’s start a dialogue, let’s talk,” Cocker said.

Because of the 45-year-old Emelianenko 47 fights and 40 wins. In the last fight in October last year, he knocked out American Timothy Johnson.

Silva, 47, has 34 wins and 11 losses. He fought his last UFC fight in October 2020, losing by technical knockout to Uriah Hall.
