Arum: Usyk is too small for Wilder and he doesn’t hit like Deontay does

American promoter says Wilder is very underestimated

Head of Top Rank Bob Arum called the main advantage of the ex-champion Deontay Wilder (42-2-1, 41 KOs) in his potential fight with the WBO/WBA/IBF/IBO heavyweight title holder Oleksandr Usyk (20-0, 13 KOs).

“Let Wilder not win a single round, but I didn’t even want to fight his worst enemy, because Deontay showed in fights with Fury that he is a very tough opponent.”

“In their third fight, Fury confidently defeated Wilder, when suddenly Deontay knocked Tyson down twice. Of course, then Fury came to his senses and knocked him out, but Wilder is very underestimated.

“I think Usyk is too small for Wilder and he certainly doesn’t hit like Deontay does. I like Wilder’s prospects in this fight.”

Usyk previously said Wilder could be his next opponent. The fight could take place in the US. In addition, Alexander plans to watch the fight between Wilder and Robert Helenius on October 15 in Brooklyn.

Robert Garcia, coach of former world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua, spoke about Wilder’s strength in a possible fight against Usyk.

In August, Usyk defeated Joshua in a split decision rematch to retain the WBA/WBO/IBF/IBO heavyweight titles.
