Joyce: Fury can hit harder than Usyk. But Usyk is faster

Joe became interim WBO champion and claims to fight Usyk

After the victory over the former world champion Joseph Parker (30-3, 21 KOs) British boxer Joe Joyce (15-0, 14 KOs) compared the level of two current heavyweight champions Tyson Fury (32-0-1, 23 KOs) and Oleksandr Usyk (20-0, 13 KOs).

“They are both at the highest level. They have their strengths and weaknesses. They are different fighters, challenging them is a difficult test. Fury is taller, he knows how to rebuild during the fight, he hits harder and is very technical. I think Fury can hit harder than Usyk.”

“Usyk is smaller than Fury, he is left-handed. You know how technically well prepared he is. Usyk is faster. He throws punches very quickly, but then again, Fury is also fast and can throw combinations in a second. They are both very tough fighters.”

Recall that Joyce knocked out Parker and became the interim WBO heavyweight champion. Usyk, who holds the WBO belt, will now be required to defend his title with Joyce.

After defeating Parker, Joyce challenged Oleksandr Usyk to fight.

In his last fight for the WBA/WBO/IBF/IBO heavyweight title, Usyk defeated Anthony Joshua. Following the results of all twelve rounds, Alexander defeated Joshua by a split decision: 115-113, 116-112 and 113-115.

Immediately after defeating Anthony in a rematch, Usyk challenged WBC champion Tyson Fury to a fight. Recall, Usyk said that the duel with Fury in December is impossible.

Usyk also said that he could have three more big fights in his career and named his opponents.
