Parker: When I’m in the ring, I can beat Joyce

The New Zealander is sure of his victory

New Zealander Joseph Parker (30-2, 21 KO) commented on the upcoming fight against the British boxer Joe Joyce (13-0, 12 KOs).

“When you are surrounded by champions, you start to think like a champion. I have no doubt that I will fully fulfill my task. I worked a lot, so I don’t worry about anything.”

“You will all see a stronger Parker. While preparing for the fight against Joyce, I significantly increased my potential. When I am in the ring, I can beat Joyce, ”Parker emphasized.

The interim heavyweight title will be at stake in the fight between Parker and Joyce, which will take place in Manchester on September 24. Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk, who owns the WBO belt, will be required to defend his title with the winner of this fight.

Parker previously held the WBO belt, losing it to Joshua. Now the New Zealander is number two in the rankings. Joyce is number one according to the WBO.

During the weigh-in ceremony, Joyce was seven and a half kilograms heavier than Parker. The Briton gained weight 123.2 kg (271.6 pounds). Parker also hit a record weight of 115.8 kg (255.4 lb).
