The former world heavyweight champion said he is ready to take on the Ukrainian’s challenge in the future.
Deontay Wilder says he is ready to step into the ring in the future against Oleksandr Usyk. According to the former world champion, Usyk always keeps his word, so the fight will definitely take place.
But the American will think about him only after meeting in the ring with Finn Robert Helenius.
“I know Usyk will come to my fight with Helenius. I consider Usyk a man of his word. If he says he will give me a chance to fight for titles, I believe him.
But as I prepared for the battle with Helenius, I looked no further. After the fight with Robert, I will see who the new opponent is – Usyk or someone else,” Sky Sports quotes Wilder.
Note that the former world champion will meet Robert Helenius on October 15 in New York.
Previously, prominent promoter Bob Arum said that Usyk would not beat Wilder if the fight were to take place.
