President of the International Boxing Association (IBA) Umar Kremlev within the framework of the forum “Russia – a sporting power”, he called on the presidents of international associations to stop engaging in sabotage, but rather to help athletes to participate in international competitions.
– Russia demonstrates the development of sport. I am happy that this event is taking place in Kemerovo. This is how every country should develop. Today, I call on all my colleagues, presidents of international associations, to stop sabotaging, but rather to help athletes to participate in international competitions without depriving athletes of the anthem and the flag. For them, the most important thing is to achieve victories for the good of their country. I’m sure the International Boxing Federation will make the right decision on this.
Personally, as president, I ask that. I think that in the near future the association will cardinally correct this error. We have no right to deprive athletes of their dreams. Our duty is to create the conditions for them to win. We come to sport to help create, not to play political games. We must call for peace, call for all disputes to be settled on the playing field. We must not be afraid, we must speak the truth and not be ashamed of the truth,” Kremlev said.
The forum “Russia – a sports powerhouse” takes place in Kemerovo from September 28 to 30.
